Plan Your Path

Tip of the week : Plan Your Path

Map out your business idea. If your goal is to be a successful musician or actor, then know what it will take to get there. There is more to it than your skill at performing. A company, like a donut shop, is only as strong as its plan of attack. What goes into this attack plan? Why would it be worth it to know all the ups and downs to a dream?! The power of your plan can change your mindset in many ways. More importantly it will always keep you focused on what you are and are not accomplishing.

Before moving forward with a S.M.A.R.T. Goal list, or even writing out the official business plan, know that all your listed actions are free to change and mold as needed. Your plans are a guideline to get you started and a reference when you feel lost. Personally, when I decided to jump into a venture I make sure I have these very specific goals written out; my 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 7 years, and 10 years all mapped out. I can have as many goals in each as I desire but never less than two.

Now I write out a smaller S.M.A.R.T. Goal list to my larger dream goals. This helps dedicate actionable tasks toward completing more doable goals which lead to a successful larger goal. I keep in mind my budget and how often I want to grow per year financially. Once I understand my budget I can focus on growth, capital gain, and clientele. At this point I want to understand the 3 Needs To Success and how I will utilize it into my company’s growth.

The 3 Needs of Success are “network”, “market”, and “practice”. How will I build and cultivate my relationships, where do I start? Always look inward to your friends, family, and associates. Write out your 5 most influential people in each group then their 5 most influential people. This is a wonderful starting point. Next, Brand yourself and start spreading the message of your Brand’s adventure into the social network of your internet. And finally, practice your skills and the needed tools for success.
